Machine access audit · AI Readiness Check by Pure Neo

Can AI models actually read your website?

Your website was built for people, and for search engines as they worked a few years ago. The AI Readiness Check tests whether AI models can reach your pages, read them, and extract your product and company facts, with fix text for every check that fails.

Checks start at $1,890. The configurator shows the exact price for your scope before you pay. Your results are never published.

When AI can't read your site, it learns about you from someone else

Traffic, conversion, and search rankings can all look healthy while an AI assistant tells a buyer the wrong thing about your product.

AI models collect facts from pages designed for a different reader. Common patterns:

  • Product specs sit in images, PDFs, or a configurator that only renders in the browser.
  • Bot rules written years ago block AI crawlers nobody has reviewed.

A person clicks past all of that. A model often can't. When it can't get a fact from you, it takes it from a reseller listing, an old review, a forum thread, or a comparison site. Then it repeats that version to buyers, confidently, with your brand name attached.

AI's version of your market is what buyers are told. Where it differs from what is true, the AI version wins over time.

You can't rebuild the site every time AI changes

A relaunch takes months and a budget line. AI assistants change how they fetch and use web content far more often. So the useful questions for a web team are narrow ones. Which checks fail today? Which one do we fix first? What specific change fixes each one?

Your SEO audit answers a related question

Your SEO partner and site audit tools check what search engines need: indexing, page speed, links, rankings. Keep them. Much of that work also helps AI models reach your site.

Two things sit outside what those tools are built to measure: whether AI models can get usable facts out of your pages, and whether any of it shows up in what AI models say about you. A technical report alone tells you what is broken. It can't show you what AI models actually say about you. The AI Readiness Check puts both in one report.

Been there, done that.

The check was built by a designer with two decades inside the SEO and content playbook for some of the biggest brands in the world. The playbook worked and still works. It also shaped the web AI learned from, and we now deal with its side effects.

Designed digital products for Allianz, MetLife, JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock, Nestlé and Porsche.

Machine access: the section your web team can act on the same day

Machine access answers one question: can AI models read our website, and what do we fix first? Here are the checks in the order a model meets your site.

Reach. Can AI crawlers get to your pages at all? The audit checks whether AI crawlers can reach and crawl your site.

Read. Once a crawler arrives, is there content it can use? Whether your product specs are published as machine-readable text and spec tables.

Extract. Can a model pull clean facts from what it read? Structured data, including Product markup. llms.txt is reported here for information only and does not count toward the score, because AI providers have not settled on whether or how they use it.

Every check shows:

  • Pass, Opportunity or Gap for your site.
  • Fix text for each check that falls short, describing the change to make.

Each failing check comes with its own specific fix text. Many fixes are small changes, such as a missing field in a product template, that your web team can start on the same day.

Then see what it means in AI answers

The rest of the report shows what access is worth, measured across a fixed panel of leading AI models, with each buyer need asked in several phrasings and a sample of questions re-asked.

  • Visibility map: where you show up in AI answers about your market, and where you don't.
  • Perception: what AI says about you, laid out so you can hold each finding against reality and fix what is wrong or thin. Facts your site failed to deliver often surface here as outdated specs or a product line you retired years ago. Where AI's version differs from your own data, AI's version is what buyers are being told.
  • Who AI recommends instead of you. When you don't come up, you see which competitor does, and its share of voice. When the difference between two brands is too small to be real, the report says "Too close to call" instead of showing a lead.
  • Monday plan: one ranked to-do list. Machine access fixes sit next to content and positioning tasks, each with an owner (whoever runs your website, owns your content, or owns your positioning) and a link to the evidence.

The check measures what AI models themselves hold about your brand, separate from what a live web search returns on a given day. For a web team, that sets expectations. A site fix can show up sooner in answers that draw on live search, which the check does not measure. What a model has already learned changes when it is retrained, on its provider's schedule. The panel is pinned to dated model snapshots and a slice of questions is deliberately re-asked, so a repeat check measures movement in the models rather than drift in the method, as long as both runs use the same scan setup (same model panel, question set and scoring version), which the report records in its Methodology footprint.

How it works

  1. Configure your scope. Enter your brand name and domain. Add named competitors to go deeper.
  2. See your price. Checks start at $1,890. The configurator shows the exact price for your scope before you pay.
  3. The scan runs. Your site goes through the technical audit while a fixed panel of leading AI models answers realistic buyer questions about your market, each need in several phrasings, with a sample re-asked. Results are built on 7,000+ analyzed data points.
  4. Get the report and the Monday plan. Fix text for your web team, your standing in AI answers, and one ranked to-do list.

One report, each section answering one question

For a web team, four sections carry the most weight: Machine access, Perception, Visibility map, and the Monday plan.

The report also includes the Verdict, the Model split, the Competitive picture against the competitors you add, Whitespace (buyer topics no brand owns yet), and a Methodology footprint showing how the scan ran.

Pure Neo measures and does not sell content. The fix list can go to your own web team, your SEO partner, or the agency that builds your site. Your results belong to you and are never published.

Questions

We already run SEO site audits. Is this the same thing?
There is overlap, and that helps: much of what serves search crawlers also serves AI crawlers. Machine access adds checks aimed at AI models, and the same report shows what AI models say about you. Your SEO partner can work from the same fix list.
Do we need to rebuild our website?
Usually not. Each failing check comes with its own specific fix text. Many fixes are small changes your web team can start on the same day, and the Monday plan ranks them alongside content and positioning tasks, so your team can work through them in priority order.
If we fix everything, will AI answers about us change?
Better access lets AI models get your facts from you. Answers that use live web search can pick up changes sooner. What a model learned in training changes when it is retrained. The check measures what models themselves hold, separate from what a live web search returns on a given day, and the panel is pinned to dated model snapshots, so a repeat check with the same scan setup measures movement in the models rather than drift in the method.
Do we need an llms.txt file?
It's reported for information only. AI providers have not settled on whether or how they use it, so the audit focuses on crawler access and readable, structured product information.
Who sees our results?
Only you. Customer results are never published.
