For marketing teams that already perform in search

Ranking in search does not tell you what AI assistants recommend

Many buyers now ask an AI assistant for a shortlist before they open a results page. The AI Readiness Check by Pure Neo measures where your brand appears in those answers, model by model, against your competitors.

Checks start at $1,890. The configurator shows the exact price for your scope before you pay. Your results stay private.

You report on every channel except the one buyers ask first

You know your rankings, your organic traffic, and where you stand against competitors in search. That reporting took years to build, and it works.

Now picture a buyer who skips the results page. They ask an AI assistant: "Which insurer is the best choice for a young family on a tight budget?" They get one answer with a few names and a short reason for each.

Is your brand in that answer? Do all AI assistants agree? Who gets named in your place?

For most marketing teams, the honest reply is "we assume so." Nothing in the current stack checks.

Why your rankings can't answer the question

A search ranking is a reading of one results page on one day. An AI answer also draws on what the model learned about your market during training: years of reviews, forums, comparison sites and old product pages. From two decades inside the SEO and content playbook, our read is that content written mainly to rank is part of that mix too. Some of what the models learned is biased or out of date. It still shapes the answer, even when the assistant also searches the web.

AI's version of your market is what buyers are told. Where it differs from what is true, or from your own research, the AI version wins over time.

So a brand can rank first for a query and be missing from the AI answer to the same question. A competitor with weaker search performance can be named first, because the models learned more about it, or learned it earlier.

Your SEO tools and your SEO partner are built to measure and improve search. Keep them. Measuring AI answers is a separate job: asking AI models realistic buyer questions in many phrasings and re-asking a sample of them. A prompt typed into an assistant once shows a single run, and AI answers vary between runs.

We built the check for our own platform first, because no tool we tried answered that question.

Been there, done that.

The check was built by a designer with two decades inside the SEO and content playbook for some of the biggest brands in the world. The playbook worked and still works. It also shaped the web AI learned from, and we now deal with its side effects.

Designed digital products for Allianz, MetLife, JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock, Nestlé and Porsche.

What the AI Readiness Check measures

A fixed panel of leading consumer AI models answers a large set of realistic buyer questions about your market. Each buyer need is asked in several phrasings, a sample is re-asked, and the results are built on 7,000+ analyzed data points. The check measures what the models themselves hold about your brand, separate from what a live web search returns on a given day. That is the part your rankings can't show you.

For a team that already knows its search position, four sections of the report matter most.

  • Verdict: where do we stand? One headline readiness score from 0 to 100, a plain-English verdict and three pillar scores. Put it next to your SEO numbers and see whether the two agree.
  • Whether AI recommends you unprompted. Asking AI what it knows about you measures recall. The check asks the questions customers ask without your name, and records whether you come up. The Visibility map shows the buyer topics and questions where AI assistants name you, and the ones where they don't. Lay it over your keyword map. The gaps show where your search strength isn't reaching AI answers.
  • Model split: does this differ model by model? Your visibility in each AI model in the panel, side by side, so you can see where they disagree about you.
  • Who AI recommends instead of you. When you don't come up, you see which competitor does. The Competitive picture gives share of voice for each brand AI assistants name where you are absent. When the difference between two brands is too small to be real, the report says "Too close to call" and does not invent a ranking.

The machine access audit covers ground your technical SEO team will recognize. It checks whether AI models can reach and read your website and extract your product information: structured data, machine-readable specs, crawlability, and llms.txt (reported as informational). Every failing check comes with fix text your web team or SEO partner can apply.

How it works

  1. Configure your scope. Enter your brand and market. To go deeper, add named competitors.
  2. See your price. Checks start at $1,890. The configurator shows the exact price for your scope before you pay.
  3. The scan runs. Every model in the panel answers your market's buyer questions, and the technical audit checks your website.
  4. Get your report and Monday plan. Nine sections, each answering one buyer question, ending in a ranked to-do list.

What you get

Alongside the four sections above, your report includes:

  • Machine access: can AI models read our website, and what do we fix first?
  • Whitespace: which buyer topics does no brand own yet?
  • Perception: what does AI say about us when it mentions us? Each finding is laid out so you can hold it against reality and fix what is wrong or thin. Where AI's version differs from your own research, AI's version is what buyers are being told.
  • Methodology footprint: how the scan was run. The panel is pinned to dated model snapshots and a slice of questions is re-asked, so a re-scan measures movement in the models with the method held still.
  • Monday plan: one ranked to-do list. Each task has an owner, either web, content or positioning, and a link to the evidence behind it.

Any team or agency can act on the Monday plan, including your SEO partner. Pure Neo does not sell content, backlinks, or GEO content packages. We measure, and the work stays with the people you already trust.

The check is a one-off audit. Run it again later to see whether the work changed what AI assistants say. The comparison holds when both runs use the same scan setup (same model panel, question set and scoring version), and the report records that setup in its Methodology footprint.

Questions

We rank well for our main keywords. Won't that carry over to AI answers?
Sometimes it does. The check shows you where. AI answers draw on what models learned about your market over time, and that can differ from what ranks today.
Does this replace our SEO agency or our SEO tools?
No. Keep them. They measure search, and search still matters. The check adds a measurement of AI answers, and the Monday plan gives your SEO partner a ranked task list with evidence.
We already typed a few prompts into AI assistants ourselves. Isn't that enough?
A prompt run once shows a single answer. The same question can produce a different answer on the next run or in another assistant. The check asks each buyer need in several phrasings across a fixed panel of models, re-asks a sample, and marks a difference too small to be real as "Too close to call", so you can tell a real gap from normal variation.
Our SEO suite now shows an AI visibility report. How is this different?
Look at what that report measures. The AI Readiness Check measures what models hold in their trained knowledge, separate from what a live web search returns that day. It asks each buyer need in several phrasings across a fixed panel of models pinned to dated snapshots, says "Too close to call" when the difference between two brands is too small to be real, and compares you against the competitors you name. If your current report covers all of that, you may not need us. If it doesn't, this adds the missing measurement.
What if the results contradict our own customer research?
That can happen. The check measures what AI assistants believe about your market. Where that belief differs from your research, the AI version is what buyers are being told. The Perception section lays out what AI says about you, so you can hold it against your research and decide what to correct first.
Who sees our results?
You do. Customer results are never published, and your results belong to your brand.
